KFGTECH

Controllers for pumps that cannot afford to fail

The company began in 1997 as a registered industrial workshop building industrial inverters and chargers. After several years of work on cathodic protection and on preventing corrosion and erosion of metals, it became one of the manufacturers of that equipment for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

Today, under the KFGTECH brand, it builds cathodic-protection transformer rectifiers in a range of types alongside energy-saving equipment for building services.

The HYDROSET PM821 family belongs to that second line. It replaces the mechanical pressure switch: it holds building water pressure steady, ramps the pump up and down so the pump lasts longer, and protects against dry running, over-current and over-temperature. Design, firmware and manufacturing are done in Iran, and the pressure sensor of every unit is calibrated at the factory.

Frequently asked

Which model fits my building?

Choose by the current on the pump nameplate: up to 8 A (1.5 hp) is PM821-8, from 8 to 16 A (3 hp) is PM821-16, and up to 25 A (4 hp) is PM821-25. If you do not know the current, buildings of one to four floors usually need the 8 A model and buildings of five to ten floors the 16 A model.

Do the products come with a warranty?

Yes. Two years of warranty covering free repair or replacement for any parts or manufacturing defect, plus five years of after-sales service covering parts, repair and technical support.

What happens if the water supply stops?

The controller detects dry running and shuts the pump down before it is damaged, then retries at the interval you set. The error clears by itself as soon as water returns.

Does it work with a pressure vessel?

Yes. HYDROSET works both with and without a pressure vessel, and suits homes, shops and gardens.

Does it replace a mechanical pressure switch?

Yes. It takes the place of the mechanical switch and adds pressure regulation, soft start and stop, and electronic protection on top of it.

How long does installation take?

It is straightforward. The pressure sensor is fitted to the pipe after the check valve, and the incoming supply and pump output are wired to the controller's terminals. Factory settings suit most installations without adjustment.

What pressure should I set?

It depends on building height: about 3.0 bar cut-out and 1.5 bar cut-in for 10 m (3 floors), 4.0 and 2.5 bar for 20 m (7 floors), and 5.0 and 3.5 bar for 30 m (10 floors).
